Good news, we can help you.In partnership with the College of West Anglia Suffolk County Football Association Football Development offer a wide range of Educational coursescatering to the needs of all Levels of Football. From the 1st4 Sport Level 1Coaching Certificate to the Level 3 (Uefa B) Coaching certificate, there is acourse to fire your enthusiasm and broaden your Football knowledge.

Help set the standard by enrolling on an FA coaching course. Almost 3 years ago the very first Level 1 coaching course in the country was run here in Suffolk. Since that first course in Lowestoft there have been over 36 level 1 courses run all over the County. The latest of which, was held at Gresham’s sport complex in Ipswich, where due to demand, 2 courses ran concurrently and 41 coaches went through their paces over 3 days and two evening workshops.

Over the past 3 years over 1200 coaches, male and female are out there coaching in Suffolk Clubs, aware of how best to meet the needs of young players. 1200 coaches who have attended Child Protection workshops and have a current First Aid Qualification. 1200 coaches, planning their sessions, making them safe, appropriate and tailored to suit the needs of all their players and most importantly FUN.

Courses available through Suffolk County Football Association include:

  • 1st4 Sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football(includes Child Protection and Emergency First Aid workshops)Aimed at coaches working with young players, 23 fun games for kids can be quickly adapted to suit adults. Course resources include a games video, Laws of the Game CD-Rom, course folder and books. Run over 3 days and 2 evenings this course provides a great base for new and existing coaches.
  • 1st4 Sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching FootballHow do you coach individual skills? Or attacking play in a small sided game?Want to find out? Then this is the course for you, 6 days on initial training followed by 2 support days and 2 assessment days will place you on the next rung of the coaching ladder.
  • 1st4 Sport Level 3 Certificate in Coaching Football (Uefa B award)Building on the skills learned on the Level 2, Level 3 takes you further, coaching small sided games of 8 v 8, learn how to deliver functional practices and coach phases of play.
  • Referee Courses are regularly run throughout County.
  • Emergency First Aid an essential course for all involved in football, covering CPR and common injuries.
  • Basic Treatment of Injury (Level 2) Take the first steps in becoming a qualified football trainer. A 30 hour course covering all major muscle groups, ligaments and joints of the lower body. Injury recognition, management and prevention.
  • Intermediate Treatment of Injury (Level 3) Building on the level 2 course, the level 3 brings in upper body, shoulder, elbow, back, etc., and expands upon knowledge gained in the level 2 course.
  • Child Protection and Best Practice an essential course for all.
  • Soccer Parent Why do children Play, Why do they stop? How can you help, all this and more.

Would you like to have a course run at your Club? Providing you can get a minimum of 18 people for coaching courses or 15 for the Child Protection and Emergency Aid workshops we would be happy to organise this to take place at your Club.
