Details about the four different Charter Standard Club Awards are listed below:
Charter Standard Club
For Junior Teams Under 16 and below
Charter Standard Club Status is for junior/youth clubs with teams under the age of 16 years of age. The award is designed to reward best practice, aid delivery across the club volunteer spectrum and educate coaches and club officials. For Charter Standard Club Status, the club must meet the following criteria:
- Club Constitution/Rules
- Copy of Annual Accounts
- Code of Conduct for players, coaches, parents and officials
- Equity Policy: To show equal opportunities in the club
- FA Child Protection Policy: Appoint a designated Child Welfare Officer who should have attended FA Child Protection workshop & completed a FA CRB check.
- Insurance
- Qualified Coaches: One Coach per youth team should have achieved Level 1 & applied for or completed an enhanced FA CRB check
Charter Standard Development Club
For Junior Teams with at least 5 teams with a minimum of 4 age groups
Development Status displays a club's determination and commitment to developing their club further. For Charter Standard Development Status the club needs to have obtained the criteria below:
- Charter Standard Club status
- At least 5 teams
- A football development plan
- 1 club coach to hold the Level 2 Qualification (Lead Coach)
Charter Standard Community Club
For Clubs with 10 teams (Adult through to Youth and including at least 1 Girls team)
One of the aims of the Community Club Award is to become the main focus for football in the local community and environment. This is the ‘Flagship’ award and full support, guidance and advice is on hand from the Suffolk FA Football Development Team at all times. To achieve this prestigious award the club needs to have obtained the following criteria:
- Charter Standard Club status
- At least 10 teams
- Ranging from Youth to Adult
- Mini Soccer Provision
- Boys and Girls teams
- 3-5 Year football development plan
- 1 club coach to hold the Level 2 Qualifiaction (Lead Coach)
Charter Standard Adult Club
For Adult Clubs
This Award rewards and recognises the work and commitment of adult clubs across the county. Adult clubs need to maintain standards as much as any club. Minimum Criteria needed to achieve Charter Standard Adult Club Status:
- Emergency first aid
- Code of conduct
- Constitution
- Minutes of AGM meeting
- Copy of annual Accounts
